The mission of the Ohio Beef Council is to increase demand for beef by investing Ohio’s checkoff funds in key areas such as promotion, research, consumer information, industry information, foreign marketing.  Half of every $1.00 collected remains in the state and is used to strengthen the beef industry’s position in the marketplace.  The other half is utilized in a national effort to develop programs implemented by the states.  The Ohio Beef Council’s operating committee is made up of 15 beef producers appointed by Ohio’s Director of Agriculture.  The operating committee’s main responsibility is to determine the best use of checkoff funds.

Elizabeth Harsh Executive Director The Executive Director plans, directs and coordinates all activities of the Ohio Beef Council and the Ohio Cattlemen's Association.	Lois Oswald Director of Accounting & Operations Assists Executive Director with administrative functions, including keeping all financial records for both organizations.	Emily Agle Director of Programs and Industry Relations Responsible for coordinating promotional programs, retail,  food service, nutrition and veal promotions.	Jamie King Director of Member Services and Communications Organize all Ohio Cattlemen's Association membership activities and serve as representative for the Ohio Beef Council at various beef industry functions.
Kristine Hooker Administrative Assistant Serves as receptionist, processes checkoff funds, coordinates mailings and shipments of educational materials.
